Siemens Healthineers MedMuseum

Visit us to delve into the history of medical technology

The history of medicine is inconceivable without the invention, further development and evolution, and use of medical equipment and devices. Throughout history, technical aids have been used to relieve pain, diagnose and treat disease – and find out more about the structure of the human body and how it works.

Medical technology has played a major role in Erlangen for a long time. It was here that Erwin Moritz Reiniger opened his medical device workshop, in 1877. A few years after the merger with Max Gebbert and Carl Schall, the young company built a new factory. The Siemens Healthineers MedMuseum is now located in the factory’s historic machine shop, built in 1893, just a few meters from the headquarters of Siemens Healthcare GmbH.

Equipped with digital magnifiers, visitors are invited to stroll through the museum’s 400 squaremeter grounds and immerse themselves in the fascinating world of medical technology.

We look forward to seeing you at the Siemens Healthineers MedMuseum in Erlangen!
